Hello! My name is Ruggiero Lovreglio. My research embeds Human Behaviour in Fire and Earthquakes, Virtual Reality and Serious Games.I hold a PhD from Scuola Interpolitecnica di Dottorato, Politecnico of Bari, Milan and Turin (Italy). My studies embed Human Behaviour in Fire and Evacuation Modelling. Ruggiero Lovreglio is a PhD student at Scuola Interpolitecnica di Dottorato, Polytechnic University of Bari, Milan and Turin (Italy). His studies embed human behaviour during emergencies. During his PhD, Ruggiero is investigating decision-making of evacuees by using discrete choice modelling. This goal is achieved by analysing data from stated (i.e. Virtual Reality Scenarios) and revealed preferences (i.e. Real and Virtual Reality Scenarios). During his PhD, Ruggiero is cooperating with researchers from several universities: Lund University (Sweden), Edinburgh Napier University (UK) and University of Cantabria (Spain). He has a Msc in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University in Bari (Italy). His background includes Building Science, Geotechnics and Transportation. In particular he has a basic knowledge of anti-seismic engineering, concrete and steel building and geotechnical works such as tunnel, retaining walls and foundations.
In his MSc thesis, he deepened Modelling in Transportation Infrastructures, Human Behaviour in Fire, Computational Modelling and Road Infrastructure Safety. He approached these topics using evacuation model (i.e. FDS+Evac) and Discrete Choice Modelling. In fact, he developed a sensitivity analysis of the Evacuation Model of FDS+Evac. To simplify this analysis, he developed two new software that allows to run automatically the FDS+Evac simulations and to analyze the great mole of data. The second step of this thesis is the modeling of choice of an exit with random utility models.
